Beautiful day in the neighborhood

It was 82 and sunny with a slight breeze today...perfect day to play outside. Brady has finally figured out how to ride his bike, although he still prefers his Big Wheels. He was running errands for me today; he'd ride to the "store" and then run inside for whatever was on his list.

Rylan was tired of being held, so I got out the Lion King car. I put the brick (used in the picture to make sure he doesn't fall flat on his face) in the seat so the car is heavier to push, which makes it less likely that it'll get too far ahead of him. He was pretty content to stand still and watch Brady ride past him on his laps around the circle.

Bad hair day

James and Brady went golfing on Sunday. Kelly and Rylan rode along. Brady hit a couple shots better than his dad...

We had a fun weekend just hanging out at home, with no particular agenda. We don't get too many of those!

It was even warm enough to play in the sandbox, although Rylan was not entirely sure he liked the sand itself!

Future Mario Andretti?

...I hope not, but one of Rylan's favorite things to do right now is push this car around! [I wonder why he likes cars so much?!?]

Gone Fishin'

I can't say that I ever caught any of these fish, even when I was working at sea camp. Some of the names Brady told me for these fish and another drawing include:

Rylan likes his vegetables, as long as they are dipped in yogurt or applesauce before traveling to his mouth...and as long as you don't try to wipe his face afterwards...

Have you met Cloudy?

For those who haven't heard, Brady doesn't have an imaginary friend...he has an imaginary pet chicken! This chicken's name is Cloudy, and he sleeps in our kitchen cabinet with the pots and pans. Brady tells me that Cloudy likes to eat pizza, chicken, and snacks. Cloudy likes to travel with us and has made appearances at playgroups, LegoLand, and restaurants. This is a clip of Cloudy and Brady singing a duet of "Make New Friends."

Here Comes Trouble

Brady actually said the other day, as Rudy was crawling towards him, "Here comes Trouble!" Brady is right; Rudy is determined to play with whatever toys his big brother has!

Day 3 - San Diego Zoo

Aside from everyone's concerns about Cooper's head, we had a pretty good day at the zoo. Brady got to see eye-to-eye with a "soccer" playing hippo and Rylan finally agreed to nap in the stroller (he'd refused the previous days!).

Day 2 - LegoLand

Today was LegoLand. Brady loved all of the rides!
