Getting the bad guys

"Getting the bad guys" is a favorite new activity around here. It consists of each boy having some sort of "weapon" and racing around to capture the bad guys. The weapons, of course, have different sound effects and purposes. It keeps the boys very entertained...and wears them out also!

Taste of fall...

We had just a sampling of fall before it got hot again. We got a lot out of that day though - kite flying, lots of time outside, and soup for dinner!

Dr. Mom with Rudy

Notice the look of concern on the patient's face about his recent injury...

After treatment, he feels much better and smiles when he shows off his bandage...

Spooky Halloween Eyes

We got "Boo-ed" by a neighbor and these were inour basket of goodies!

Busch Gardens

Hard to believe that this was October 5, and it was still plenty warm enough to play in the water! Rylan was very impressed with these fountains; he would bend over a wait until the water shot out and then he would just laugh hysterically when it hit him in the face.

Rudy was excited to be big enough to ride on his own!

O-R-E-O

I'm pretty sure this was his first Oreo cookie. Without hesitation, he pulled it apart and licked out the cream filling before eating the cookies. He's a pro!

Happy kid

Look...up in the sky!

Man on a mission

We were at the playground and Rudy repeated this procedure at least a half dozen times, without any variations. Was his goal to relocate all the mulch? Not sure, but he sure was working hard!

Halloween Dance

I got this toy on clearance last year - what a great investment!

Dad's birthday present

James got a remote control helicoptor for his birthday. It's hard to tell who has more fun with it!

Leapfrog

It's all good until he tries this when no one's there to catch him!

Rudy and his bug

Rylan spent about 10 minutes studying this bug on the driveway. Quite enthralling!

A face only a mother could love...

Rylan is very impressed with his skills at feeding himself...I'm thinking it's a lot of work to clean up!

We hosted an ice cream social last week...can you guess what flavor Brady chose??

First day of school

Brady was SO excited about his first day of preschool. James stayed home to have breakfast with us, and everyone was up in time to make waffles. Brady was supposed to take a bug to school today, but the cricket he caught yesterday escaped last night so he and James had to go cricket hunting again this morning.

The first thing Brady said to me when I picked him up after school was that he wished he could go to school every day!

My two Monets

Brady describes his painting:

Grape monster

Since about 11 months, Rylan seems to be a much happier kid. Is it because he started walking? and could be more independent. Maybe, but my theory is he was just hungry for 11 months and is just now filling up. He eats nonstop...ready for a snack as soon as he finishes a meal. Not entirely kidding, James said recently that Rudy was going to have to get a part time job to pay for his own food. (Maybe the next KidNation?!?)

Almost the best picture ever

Too bad the camera didn't focus!
