Peach Picking

We braved the heat for a quick trip to the peach orchard. And - we even remembered to hand the camera over to James, just to document that I'm actually around for all of these family adventures!

Summer camper

Brady is staying with James' parents this week. While he's there, he's been going to half day sports camp with golf, swim, and tennis.

At camp, he learned about silly bandz. Our time free of them has apparently come to an end, as it sounds like he is quite enthusiastic about his new collection ;)

From Kathy:

Just a little story -- The tooth fairy left two dollar bills under the pillow, but they slipped down under the bed. The first reaction was not good - she took the tooth but didn't leave anything. Anyway, we found the money. Then Brady told me that some of the kids had one dollar bills at the pool yesterday for a snack. I asked if he wanted to take his money with him for that reason. "But I only need one dollar for that. Would you like me to buy you something too?"

Smarshmallow

Rudy picked out a really cute book from the library; I think it's called Tell Me Your Dragon. There are really beautiful pictures and descriptions of different dragons. We asked him to tell us his dragon.

The dragon he described was aqua all over, with aqua wings and a tail as long as a river. He could breathe fire and used his fire to help us cook "smarshmallows." This dragon, also named Smarshmallow, lived in the woods beside our house.

Rudy wanted to paint his picture and nail it to a tree in the woods so Smarshmallow would always know to come home.

We spent the holiday weekend with at my parents' house. Grandma was visiting and Brian, Rebecca, and Lila came over every day.

I wish...

Rudy was working very hard on his computer when we got home from the pool.

He kept asking me where specific letters were on the keyboard, and then he called me in to read his sentence. Can you guess what it says?

"I wish you were our guest," said Rudy.

Cowboy Party, part 2

We celebrated Brady's birthday with family on July 4 with a pool party at my parents' pool. He loved showing off all of his pool tricks (the slip and slide, the slide, cannonballs off the diving board) to everyone!

He thought we should have a red, white, and blue dessert since he already had birthday cake. I certainly was going to fight against the old trifle standby!

I went biking last night and James took the boys out to play nine holes. He said that Brady's game has really improved!

Rudy has been diligently working on his thank you notes since his birthday. He is writing them all by himself, but only has the patience for one (maybe two) a day. Today, he added his own stamping embellishments to the card and to himself...
