First Communion Day

We had a busy day planned for the large crowd in town for Brady's first communion!  After breakfast (and pictures), we headed into church.

Always time for some Calvin and Hobbes in the car!

And then some more pictures...(there was no photography allowed in the church, so we had to make up for it before and after!)

Next, it was home for a quick change before heading to the field for a picnic before Brady's baseball game.

Some playground time for the non-baseball players:

Ike is the third kid to fit inside this jacket on drizzly days!

It was probably the slowest, most boring game that Brady's team has had all season!  The game ended 1-0, with Brady's team ahead.  (This is compared to their most recent game, which they won 20-1!)

Then it was back home (f
or a quick wrestling match?)
...some more pictures...

some playing in the rain...
some inside play time...

and, some more food!  (Wait...is that Rebecca cooking?!)

As much as it looks like it, that is not actually wing sauce:

Rokit Ship

Rudy had to create something from recycled materials for an earth day project.  The parent was supposed to write a brief description of the materials used, but I helped Rudy do it himself on the computer.  He describes his 'rokit ship' quite clearly!

DC day trip

We had a few extra hours in DC after our space shuttle adventure.  We'd heard a lot about the National Building Museum so we decided to check it out.  Unfortunately, it was a disappointment!  We did enjoy the Lego exhibit.

The Empire State Building model is 7.5 feet tall and has 12,200 Legos!

Rudy liked the Chicago Spire; it took 150 hours to design and 200 hours to build!  There are almost 17,500 Legos in the model!

We also managed to completely wear out Rudy for the drive home!
