Happy thoughts for Maggie

Maggie developed a limp last week. We took her to the vet on Tuesday and were told to bring her back on Wednesday for x-rays. The vet told us to expect a torn ACL. We were totally blindsided, then, when he told us that she has a malignant bone tumor in her back leg.

The odds are stacked against her...but she is going in on Wednesday to have the leg amputated in an effort to prevent the spread of the cancer and to alleviate her pain. She's been a great 4-legged dog...imagine how great she'll be on only three legs!

Always close by, she takes her job as protector very seriously...
