Wait, what's this - blue skies??
Of course by the time we had breakfast and actually made it out the door, it had clouded up again. It didn't really matter, since we were headed to an actual rainforest! Capilano Park is a tourist attraction, but one that is worth visiting. There is a huge suspension bridge, a treetop walk, and a cliff walk. All very cool.

Back across the bridge for some lunch:

Even though it didn't move, this was somehow more scary than the bouncing bridge!

From the park, we went up the street to a salmon hatchery. The kids were thrilled that it was actually the right time of the year for the salmon to be swimming upstream; we got to watch several of them maneuver the fish ladder.
We learned all about how the hatchery helps salmon and even got to see some babies.
Back outside, we took a short hike down the river.
...watched this guy try to swim up the dam. I wonder if he ever found the ladder?
...and watched this guy and several more boogie board down the river. It wouldn't seem quite as crazy if it weren't so COLD!
On the hike:
We kind of wandered our way back to the hotel and stopped in this cute little town.
We passed this house, on its own island. Nice.
And - Kelly's first amazing wildlife shot - a skunk behind the dumpster at our hotel. (Why does anyone let me hold the camera for wildlife pictures?)
