After church, everyone came back to the house for lunch. Even Father Gregory stopped by for a visit! Rudy got his first ice cream cake - strawberry ice cream, chocolate cake, and chocolate ganache - and there were snow cones for all!
The kids played outside for a long time. Once they started to wear down, Rudy came inside to open a few gifts: First Communion picture frame, a "Breathe" bracelet to help him keep calm, a stone engraved with a Bible verse, and a handmade fused-glass cross and marble. Nana and Popsie had already allowed him to choose two special watches from Ticker's collection.
Overall, I think Rudy had a great day. He certainly felt like it was a momentous occasion, and enjoyed the spotlight.
