Summer swim season is in full swing around here! We have had one intrasquad meet and two competitive events.
This year, Rudy is one of the oldest in his 6 & under age group. He has a great freestyle stroke, but hasn't quite figured out how to keep moving forward while he breathes! He routinely does well in the freestyle and backstroke, and even competed with the 8 & unders last week in a 50M freestyle.
The coaches like to keep track of the little guys so they have them nearby for the relays. There are a lot of games to keep the kids form getting too antsy...
This is Brady's first year in the 9-10 year old age group. It's a big change, since he now has to swim all 50M or more events. His coaches have also been pushing him more and signing him up for butterfly and breast stroke races. He has gotten a little frustrated with himself, but has been working hard to figure out the strokes and build endurance for the distances.
