Second grade has been a thorough lesson in time management for Rudy. This month, he had a rough draft of his TAG paper, a book report, and a Native American 1-page paper and diorama all due within 3 days of each other! We helped him make a calendar and plan out his days to get everything done. He threw a few fits throughout the preceding weeks, but ultimately seemed to enjoy working on each project once he sat down and got started.
He chose the Lakota Indians as the Native Americans for his diorama. He represented that they:
- live on the plains - with his background, pulled from an old book
- live in teepees - created with construction paper and sticks
- ate buffalo - shown by the skeleton from his Playmobil set
- rode horses and hunted with bows and arrows
- gathered nuts and seeds - with the pile of seeds in the front
