Jamaica, Day 4

Our big adventure the previous day had been fun and we were glad we did it, but we were still holding out hope for a few glorious Caribbean days at the resort where we could do nothing more than relax in the sun with our slushy drinks.

However, Wednesday did not cooperate any more than any of the previous days and we awoke to this:

Windy, cloudy, cool.  Not exactly as planned...

At this point we were beyond waiting for sunshine to enjoy the resort though.  We made the best of it and set up camp by the hot tub.  We'd spend a little time in the lazy river and then warm up in the hot tub.

Can you see his complete enjoyment of the experience??

The resort was really wonderful.  We had read reviews in advance that it was older and not in the greatest shape, but we never had any issues.  The staff members were all friendly (well, except for the grump at the towel hut who was particularly stingy with lending out the shuffleboard and cornhole equipment).  One pool included a lazy river, three waterslides, and a swim up bar.  The other pool was a standard rectangle, perfect for football or frisbee.

Eventually the chill got the best of us and it started to sprinkle.  We relocated to chairs with umbrellas by the main pool.  We got a lot of reading done on this trip...

Brrr....chilly at lunch!

Overall, we thought the entertainment at the resort was really cheesy.  Lots of mediocre lounge-type singers and one amazingly awful magician.  Tonight was about as bad as normal, but we did catch the parent/child dance competition.  Brady and James had to dance with each other until the emcee called out a mixed drink.  I don't remember the specific drinks, but one required you to find a new partner and one required you to rush back to your parent.  Because we are KNOWN for our mad dance skills, these two were semi-finalists!  I can almost guarantee you that will never happen again!
