Mediterranean Cruise - Day 9, At Sea

We went to a behind the scenes visit in the Vista Lounge with the singers and dancers and then to lunch.  The boys went to see Tomorrowland and Kelly and I went to hear about upcoming ports.  Then I took a nap.  The boys came back and we went to the Captain's Q&A.  

Today was a day at sea so we slept in late and went to the pool.  Then we went to the Behind the Scenes tour of the theater.  Then we went to the movie theater and watched Tomorrowland.  Then we went back to the pool for the a bit before heading to our room to get ready for our second formal night.  Since today was Nana's birthday we got Yoga and Trisna our waiters to set up birthday stuff.  I had filet mignon with lobster for dinner and most of it was good.  Then we played shuffleboard and won by 50 points!  We played some card games and went to bed.  -Brady

It felt rather momentous that we sent the boys to the movie by themselves.  Being on a self-contained vessel, and knowing that they'll stick together, gives them some more freedom than they might otherwise have.

We picked up some interesting details at the Captain's Q&A:

• The ship is diesel electric so electriciy ithat is not being used elewhere on the ship goes into the engines.  When the kitchen shuts down at night (ovens, burners, etc.),e ship pick up 3/4 knots.
• On another cruise on another ship, the ship was sturck by lightning right over the capain's cabin.  It blew out one entire radio and navigation system (but they had a backup).

James received a graduation present massage from his parents, so he disappeared for the afternoon to try to work out a knot in his neck that was leading to a migraine.  The boys played at the pool for the afternoon.  Tonight was another formal night in the dining room.  After dinner, we had quite the game night with shuffleboard, Loot, and Fluxx.  It was clear and we were at sea, so we pulled out the binoculars for some stargazing.  Still not great, since the ship is lit up like a small city!
